(October 24, 2021 Cincinnati, Ohio)-
The winners of the third annual Frightfilm Competition were announced Sunday October 24th at the Federal Warsaw Incline Theater during the awards ceremony. The event was hosted by Jeff Winkelman one of the founding partners.
“Our judges had lots of challenges this year when scoring the films. Again this year they told us that the quality of the films was excellent. Said Frightfilm co-founder Bill Anderson. He went on to say, “In one of our categories the judges couldn’t and wouldn’t break a tie. We think that’s just great!”.
Industry professionals served as judges in sixteen different categories. “In addition to the awards determined by our judges, our audience members chose two “Audience Favorites” who also received Skelly Awards." Jim Timmerman, co-founder went on to say, “The winner in the Group B category won by only one vote!”
The Skelly statuette is the award presented by Frightfilm Competition for outstanding achievement in horror short film-making. Jeff Winkelman, co-founder, summed up the event saying, “Again this year all our filmmakers where very creative and very safe. They created a thirteen minute horror film in less than two months and during a pandemic. Each of them should feel special for the accomplishment.“

Whether you're a working professional or a young beginner, make a short (13 minutes or less) horror film and scare the pants off your competition.
You'll have enough time. This isn't a weekend production. Filmmaking begins August 3, 2021 and ends October 3, 2021.
You'll have 2 months to write, produce and edit your scary film. That's time enough to create an award winning film (read video) that could start you on the way to becoming the next Tobe Hooper or Wes Craven.
The Fright Film competition, LLC, is a time restricted film event that will recognize outstanding filmmakers in the horror/scary film genre.
Awards will be presented to the Best Film of 2020 and to Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay and many more!
The goal of this competition is to make just one type of film, SCARY!
All submitted films must fit in that genre. Mixed genres (Horror/scary, Horror/comedy, Scary SCI-FI, etc) will be accepted. Films that do not fit in the scary genre will be disqualified from all awards, but will be shown at the screening event.
